About Dr. Lena, MD, MPH.

An accomplished and respected physician, Dr. Lena is board certified in Family Medicine and a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine.


Dr. Lena has over a decade of experience caring for patients in the clinic, hospital and urgent care settings. She has worked in a number of diverse environments, from rural communities with limited resources, to medical clinics in America, the Caribbean, Europe and Africa. She has experience and expertise in managing acute and chronic medical conditions and has counseled many families through challenging times. She has seen first-hand the progress that patients and their families can make with appropriate primary care, continuity and medical support. Her credentials coupled with her warmth and compassion for her patients, it is no surprise that she is such a beloved physician.
Dr. Lena's passion is to provide comprehensive, affordable, healthcare in the community where she was raised. She believes in patient centered medical care where the emphasis is on health literacy, patient advocacy and preventive health.

Dr. Lena earned her Bachelors of Biology degree from Hampton University, a Masters in Global Public Health from New York University and Doctor of Medicine degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (UMDNJ). She completed her Family Medicine residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in affliation with Bronxcare Health Center and holds a Travel Medicine Certification from the International Society of Travel Medicine. Dr.Lena is a well sought after speaker, consultant and health services researcher. Her interests are centered around the interaction of primary care and global public health.


In her spare time, Dr. Lena enjoys international travel and is an avid pro cyclist.
